A Hand Knotted Carpet is woven entirely by hand on a specially designed loom. Vertical warp threads are first stretched on the loom, which later form the fringe of the carpet. Horizontal weft threads are then interwoven through the warp threads to create a strong foundation. Each knot is individually tied by hand, cut, and secured with precision. An experienced weaver can tie approximately one knot every two seconds, which means each carpet takes several months to complete.
